Hello
Hello
I have always been into comic books. My parents would rarely buy them for us as kids, but I remember visiting the newstand near my grandparents when we visited. I always checked out the rack of comics they had. Sometimes I even got to take one home.
When I turned 16 and started working, I started buying comics on my own. Star Trek was the lead in to this, as I was really into Star Trek: The Next Generation. I wanted to read the DC Comics line of Trek comics and found a comic book store near me. I loved the place. It was more or less the basement of a house but it was great!!
I started buying my Trek books but quickly spread into the superheroes. I immediatly gravitated to the DC books. Superman, was the first(still my favorite), from there to Justice League, then to the individual member titles. I was eventually buying many books a week.
College came and my love continued. Tried my first order by mail subscription service. The internet was very new then and I ordered monthly by sending in my Previews Catalog order form physically in the mail with a check payment. It was fantastic when that box of comics was waiting for me when I got home.
After college, I eventually married and had kids. Between work and family comics did follow to the side for a bit. During the late 00's a few situations resulted in the selling off of most of my collection.
Eventually things did get better, by then I did start visiting a new comic shop in the new city we had moved to. My boys loved going there with me. My oldest has a definite love for the medium although his tastes are more in Manga.
Now, I often buy and sell physical books. I love collecting the big omnibus editions. But am definetly still a DC Comics Fanboy.
